In the book "illusions", there was a quote that said "How would you know if your purpose on earth has been achieved, if aren't dead.. you haven't ... "
I have different wishes for reality than the purpose I am here to achieve. I cannot say what's my purpose for now, than to learn..for what?.. for whom?.. I dont know.
So, I think, if I could achive all from my wish list of reality, I'd be ready to die(quit reality)
a) What's among the top 10 on your wish list ? b) What's one purpose you can think of that you feel you are here for ?

a) I was thinking about this question all day long, and came to the conclusion that I have everything I want, except for what I wish other people would have, which would be a list similar to Dwayne's. b) Learning.

My personal wishes are simple: to be a bestselling writer and for all of my family & friends to have their dreams come true too.
My purpose on earth, I think, is to inspire people to go for their dreams and believe in the perceived impossible, to be an example that dreams do come true no matter how "crazy" or "unattainable" they might appear to others.

I have a lot of material personal wishes but I think I'll leave sharing them for later. ;D
What I would really like is to learn as much as possible about this universe and existence in general, both spiritually and scientifically - I believe those two go hand in hand any way.
I also sincerely wish that people would be kinder to each other. I think what hurts me most about other people is the way they treat me and others in general, often very thoughtlessly, unkindly and unfriendly. Even if it was only small things at work, at home and around friends as well as strangers. It's all so unnecessary and it results in no good.

Bluebird sorrows:
"I think what hurts me most about other people is the way they treat me and others in general, often very thoughtlessly, unkindly and unfriendly."
Am in total agreement, Bluebird, & have mentioned the following saying before, being so apt here now:
"Be kind ... for nearly everyone we meet, no matter how it may seem otherwise, is having an extremely difficult time of it."
Ultimately, everything comes back to us in the same exact ratio as it is sent out from us in some aspect of our lives. This is Law, pure & simple, expressed in many ways which all say the same thing ...
~ As you sow, so shall you reap ~ ~ Every action has an equal & opposite reaction ~ ~ Like attracts like ~ ~ Lay a trap for someone & we fall into it ~ ~ What goes around comes around ~ ~ Everything we do comes back to us in the exact same ratio in some aspect of our lives without fail ~
These all are saying the very same thing. Law, pure & simple. Creator's Law. Only need one & it all begins with thought. Am thinking the most beautiful description of a person's character is:
~ The sum of all of their thoughts ~
Many seem unable to care about anyone but themselves, blinded to the truth that Creator is everywhere & therefore in everything. When we mistreat another then we are essentially mistreating part of Creator. To see this is to acknowledge beyond our self.
Blessings ...

To those who have material wishes, I've got a few questions. Why don't you get those things? What keeps you back from them? Have you tried (at least) to make these wishes come true? And lastly, do you really need them in order to make you happy?

I guess a lot of people see me as a relatively fearless person, and I do have achieved a lot of my material wishes. I actually realized that only now that I wrote it down! Sometimes I stop and think about what I've actually achieved/got in life, and I'm happy about it. But I always move on to the next wishes, to what's in the future... ungrateful, I know, but it keeps life exciting.. ;D Right now my most important material wishes depend on money: get a bigger apartment (we need one more room), get a second cat, a flight certificate, a nice wedding etc... I'd also like to wrap up my PhD, which takes time AND money (grants). All those are large wishes and will come in time. I can't get them all tomorrow, that's impossible. Will they make me happy? I think they will most certainly make me happIER. I do not know whether they would make me happy if I was unhappy to begin with. I hope that answers your question, Edina.

So you're already working towards them and I'm quite sure you will achieve them as well. That's GREAT!! I'm at a point in my life, where I don't know what to wish for next. Of course I'm also continuously working to achieve certain things, but they aren't important anymore, because I know I'll get them. They aren't "wishes" anymore and I'm out of ideas...

Go to the sales of your favorite shop ;D Okay, bad joke, but you get the idea: everyone sees/experiences something they end up wanting to have. Whether it's useful or not is another matter.
Here's an idea: have you traveled enough? Seen enough cultures and landscapes? Met enough different kinds of people?

Ohhh that made me laugh if you'd only know... Yes, certainly I did travel enough, and have seen and met different kinds of people. Thank you for the questions though. Nevertheless you are right, things WILL happen, come in my way that will trigger my desires. To be honest, in the past I just couldn't handle people like this with no goals whatsoever. Couldn't understand them, and now that I'm on the other side of the road, it seems strange thinking back on my past thoughts...

Well, my point was, I don't believe you can ever travel too much. There's always new things to see and new kinds of people to meet. And every person you meet will teach you something. Of course that's only my personal opinion.

Maybe it's just me, that I don't wish to travel anymore. Have you ever had so much from something that you just had enough and said "please no more"? LOL Because that's how I feel. And you're right, each meeting with the unknown, be that new people, is a learning experience, on the other hand though they don't necessarily produce new desires.
