Hello Dwayne,
My, how brightly your stars shine. Can tell you have
been around a long time!
The story told was metaphoric-a visual expression
of my observation of individuals, (myself included)
who have attached their identity so strongly to a
belief system external to themselves-deriving their
sense of self-worth and value from a concept other
than themselves. In that process, they give up
their power, (defined here as the recognition of the
root within the individual from which springs their
own varied and unique, perspective) to a set of
beliefs agreed, and imposed upon by a majority.
It has taken me years to break away from such ideology.
It started when I recognized that my experience was
in conflict with what others professed to believe.
I could tell by the words that they used that they had
not internalized the concept, but spoke in the words
of another, without understanding the meaning of
that which they spoke. Kind of a parroting, I guess
you could say.
"When you believe in things that you don't understand,
then you suffer......, very superstitious"....Stevie Wonder
I was born out of the box-I think out of the box-I tried
so hard to adjust my being to fit in the box so that
I wouldn't suffer rejection as a child, to no avail. I would
have done anything, just to feel accepted as a part of
the group.
Now, years later, I understand the value of the different
perspective I offer, love it, and offer it to others.
Not that others should think like me, or be like me, but
through the process of looking within, (requiring, temporarily, the setting aside of current false beliefs about who they think they are) to discover who they truly are. They must know that, if they choose, they can
then pick up their former beliefs and veil themselves
with them again if they choose.
This process can be very frightening, for just in the
setting aside of their concepts, to look elsewhere,
a fear of loss of self which is so strongly identified with
their current belief system comes flying up in their face.
Attached to that fear are admonitions, such as, "be
careful, satan will surely get you if you stray," and
the resistance and conflict begins.
In the case of the gentleman on the high-rise I-beam,
life circumstances, natural consequences born of
his awareness not being present in the moment played
out, metaphorically speaking, forcing him to let go
of the wire, his life-line, in order that he might be
rescued. It is biblical, you know. "He that clings to his
life shall lose it.......He that......shall save it"
The most profound eye/soul awakening experience
beyond my initial born-again experience, was the
first the record, then the movie, "Johnathon Livingston
Seagull." From the getgo, I saw the seagull, and then
I was the seagull, his experience mirrored my life
exactly. The entire movie was one epiphany after another.
I have heard that Richard Bach disassociated himself
from the movie, is that so?
Please, please, let him know that I am one, hopefully
of many, who Truly came Alive from that experience.
Funny, one of our dental patients in San Francisco,
was aboard the plane that photographed the movie.
I can't remember whether he was the pilot, no......
the cinematographer, I think, of JLS. We had an
interesting conversation, ending with his firm,
powerful statement to me, "the difference between
you and ------, is that you SEE." I felt so priviledged
that another human being could see into me. And then
it was off to the races..............
I wonder if:
Genetically, within the individual, there may be
a time-sensitive prohibition, (played out in
dogmatic religious belief) preventing, for the
safety of the individual psyche, the expansion
of consciousness beyond that which the individual
can currently handle. If so, look only when it occurs
to you to do so.
Anyway, Dwayne, here is a response to your response.
There is sooooo much more, would hope you or another
will respond, and "play" with me, in other words bounce
ideas off the wall, carry and pass the torch of human
consciousness forward, and with understanding, contributing to the spiritual evolution of humanity-
hence, ultimately spilling over into the "natural and
spontaneous" evolution of manifested human behaviour in time and space.
Look forward to your response

to make this-won't let me post to you specifically,
