why do we have to regret why can't we just forget that would make things so much easier. its like you know you made a mistake but instead of being able to forget about it, it just dwells on you and makes you feel horrible any advise on being able to just forget things i would really appriciate it

You are the one that decides to regret or forget. You have a choice in the matter whether you believe it or not. If you choose to be miserable, and live in the past, well, who's making you do that? If you choose to be happy, and live right now, well, who's to stop you? In my opinion it is ego based... the ego cannot stand making mistakes, it is always right. And when something "wrong" occurs it cannot accept it, so it blames and makes you feel miserable until it can prove in some way that it has suffered enough for the mistake or that it is now "right" again about something else...and then all the good feelings come back and the ego appetite is fulfilled again, that is, until it all happens again. Its a cycle, just like all others in a world of duality, a fluctuation from one polarity to another. It will continue for you, me and anyone else for as long as we believe in it. right, wrong... good, bad... up, down on and on...

thanks for the advise whoever you are i really appriciate it! i think that i(we) do just need to make myself(ourselves) think what i(we) want or need to think instead of letting my(our) conscience eat away at me(us). the mind is a very powerful thing and you can make yourself believe whatever you want to believe.N i really hope that there aren't any people out there who think that thats not true. the mind will always remain over matter.
