I'd be interested in hearing comments, too. I ran out to buy one but really didn't get sucked in and am kinda disappointed as I was so looking forward to a new RB book. I'm curious where this whole ferret thing began and what I must be missing in the poignancy department.

I would also. Never read one book of Ferrets for the same reason that I read JLS too recently: I'm not into children books. Prove me wrong, please. Nic

I don't think that the ferret chronicles are books for teaching. Just gentle reminders of how we should approch any situation.

I started out quite cautiously with the ferret chronicles. The first one I wasn't just quite sure about, but the second got better and the third I absolutely loved, as I did the fourth and fifth. I think the last three are as joyful and playful as any Richard Bach's book, and they made me think about certain things in a way I never had before. The characters came to life and I found myself utterly curious about what would happen to them after the last pages of each book

I am owned by 9 ferrets and I think that they just into your blood and you loved to hear about others and after you get to know ferrets you can actually picture in your mind them doing what the books talk about. Fiction or not, to me they are very real adventures

Just read my first two ferret books......gentle reminders and teaching indeed! Read deeper, they are true RB books! Wonderful playful story with deep learning couched in the story. Whoever, I do agree tht they are the "milk" which is everyone of ours first food. Reminders to Love, to Care each other, to follow your Path, to do the best you can and then some with everything, to restore wrongs to right, that there ARE things in this life that is more important than your own life and giving that life to protect it is very honorable, that honor is learned and grown and to be held dear....oh my, the list for me goes on. Yes, excellent childrens books, but I think that all of us so grown up "adults" could use a gentle reminder from time to time so I highly recommend that all adults read these "childrens" books!! Andthat'sallIhavetosayaboutthat!! ;D

Personally, I loved them. Even snitched endless quotes for my private/personal collection. *grin*
Mostly, it's all stated in the books themselves: when you're ready, the teacher and the lessons will reveal themselves.
Read between the lines. "Listen" to what he's NOT saying... you'll find whole new "conversations". I find that true with most of Richard's books.

What was the intended audience age group for these books? Were they intended for youngsters?

Welcome! You would think that this is the perfect place to ask this particular question....right.... Maybe so, as I could give you the exact demographics, if I really wanted to... Instead, let me just give you a hint... If Antoine de Saint-Exupery's book 'The Little Prince' was published today, one could ask the same question. So, my suggestion is to read them and find it out for yourself!
