Seems like a while since any new threads, and after reading through several in the past 24hr , decided to take up suggestion, to post something, and explain how I came upon this community yeaterday.
About 15 years ago as a teenager I first read JLS and new it was more than just a story about a bird, identified with the concepts of individualism and following ones passions but never really went inside myself further from it, and was perhaps confused by the reincarnation aspects. A few years later I read Illusions, bridge, one, and later gift of wings, often times wondering where the fact and fiction merged in the writings and identifying with many of the concepts touched upon but I think also somewhatbeing confused by the deeper spiritual concepts and the space time scenarios.
Just this week spent some time with a person who was quite spiritual and while I was teaching him snowboarding in a professional capacity, our chairlift discussions developed from his practise of yoga and my limited experience with it but understanding of its obvious benefits and correlations to snowboarding, through to deeper discussions on his spiritual growth, and slowly I was reminded of the writings of RB and the questions I asked myself as a reader. I expressed to him the similarities of his experiences and understandings with those of RBs writing, in my recollection anyway, and was mildly surprised he had not come across him, although he seemed to have recollection of references, anyway I suggested he check RB out and thought I should do similarly. Long story short,( or mildly long )here I am, interesting to hear about the divorce!More interesting to read RBs comments, also interesting to read the POS thread, took a relative novice in chat room speak a while to figure POS out but pretty sure I've got it now! The cynic amateur psychologist in me wonders whether "What" has own issues with parenthood and responsibilities, surely he/she is not armed with all the facts to make all incompassing judgements!!!
Anyway think I will revisit my reading of many years ago, and see how my interpretations are now.. Back then I was much the aspiring 9 to 5 capitalist now much more of a lifestyler or snow/troutfishing bum however it may be interpreted, (Side note interested on any opinions regarding my hobby of temporarily "peircing" trout, forcing them to work out then returning them to paece only to try fooling them again the next day).
Alright enough for now, I will be checking this site regularly and intend to contribute as I feel comfortable, I feel this is a welcoming, understanding and positive forum and look forward to learning much from it! Meanwhile the snow is melting so may try focussing my energy on a snowstorm, selfishness(for want of a better word) is one of my characteristics and one of the concepts I felt RB really touched on and something I am eager to reinterpret in his writings or thoughts from the members here.
Hows that for a long winded self intro!
