When someone close passes and you are feeling devestated it can help to listen to music. Music is important to me and I spent a fair amount of time finding the right memorial music for my mom's funeral. I think it would be helpful for some people to have some suggestions. Here are some of the pieces I selected. Perhaps some of you could add some that you find appropriate. It could help someone in a time of need.
Into The West (From LOTR, Return of the King)
Rainbow Connection ( I used Kenny Loggins Version, but Sarah McLaughlin has a good version and Kermit the Frogs version is good too )
Over The Rainbow ( I used the version by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole ) This song incorporates What a Wonderful World.
I also used Randy Travis's version of How Great Thou Art. ( My Mom's Favorite Hymn )
I also found some beautiful pieces on Soundclick.com I went to the classical, choral section and download (free) Iowa State Singers - "Sleep" and "Lay A Garland"
One other piece actually came from Star Trek. I think the piece is called Flute Solo. It was from a television episode where Picard lived an entire life in a few moments and during that life he learned to play the flute. When he returned to "normal" he could play the flute.
Anyway, maybe some of you could list some good pieces and then when someone has to deal with this situation they could find some pieces that touch them.

Maybe you should play something she liked...
The only songs that I can recommend at the moment are 'Pilgrim' by Enya and 'Gone Too Soon' by Michael Jackson.

Hello Jeff,
Hope you are well. Faves to share with you all in times of bereavement:
"Calling All Angels" by Jane Siberry with k.d. lang, track on "Until The End Of The World" soundtrack
"The Silent Path" by Robert Coxon, CD
"Thunderstorm" by Dan Gibson, "Solitudes" Nature Sound Collection, CD
"Spirit Keepers" by John Serrie, CD
"The Sound Of Wind Driven Rain" by Will Ackerman, CD
"How Was I To Know" ; "I Will Be Free" by Nil Lara, tracks on "Nil Lara"
Having very recently said "See you later" to a dear fiend, these songs helped to work through the tears.
Warmly,
~Dwayne~

Hi Jeff, it's strange you should mention the Picard piece (One of my favourite next gen episodes). I believe it's called "Inner Light" and is a truly beautiful piece which I have in my music collection.
Might I suggest and this one will sound a strange choice but if you know the piece it is beautiful and uplifting and that is the music from Jurassic park where they first meet the dinosaurs.
Hope it helps
All the best Tony

These are great suggestions. I hope more people will post. Sort of a repository of ideas for people.
