She's a beaut. Is there such thing as a two-point landing? Or a one-point landing?

"Is there such thing as a two-point landing?"Am thinking so, in a fun way ... Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting... although this is actually considered a 3 pointer as well. The perfect 3-pointer, as this simpi was soon to learn, is where your rear wheel touches a small fraction of a second first, lowering the plane's nose, lessening the angle of attack of her wings & thus keeping her from becoming airborn again. "Or a one-point landing?"Am thinking so ... though they are not pretty. Nor are they survivable most of the time. ~Dwayne~ Edit[/u]- to add image

It seems like a beautiful, very survivable one-point landing is quite possible. And it seems like it wouldn't seem like it if it weren't. What do you think it would have to entail?

For a pleasant survivable one? Oh, say: a parasail landing on one foot while laughing in pure joy.
An unpleasant one (for most if not all): the airliner which crashed in Pennsylavia on 9/11.

cindyprism reflects: "And it seems like it wouldn't seem like it if it weren't."My favorite expressed thought of yours here thus far & being the nudge needed here now. Thanks. ~Dwayne~

I'm sorry, apparently my question wasn't clear enough, so let me try again: What do you think a beautiful, very survivable one-point landing by a fleet biplane would entail?

"... apparently my question wasn't clear enough, so let me try again: What do you think a beautiful, very survivable one-point landing by a fleet biplane would entail?"Asked respectfully: is this a Zen question, Cindy? ~chuckle~ Am able to think of several possibilities in the moment. It may entail: (1)- Another dimension (2)- The most glorious tailwheel stand imaginable (3)- * your answer please* Would you mind if this simpi continues to call you Cindy? ~Dwayne~

Let's see. If I were flying a fleet biplane, and I only had one wheel on which to land, it seems like I would be very interested in balance. And not just any balance: perfect balance, since it seems any balance less than perfect would cause my little plane to go at least slightly awry, which would seem to cause my plane to land less beautifully than it could, with less chance for survival. Would you agree with this? If so, how do you think I would best go about finding & utilizing perfect balance?

Am most pleased to answer your question to the best of my ability, though am preferring you would be so kind as to answer my earlier question first: Would you mind if this simpi continues to call you Cindy? ~Dwayne~

I ignored that question because I was hoping you'd realize it didn't matter, at least not as much as the stuff I'm hoping to get to. But I guess since it seems important to you for some reason, I will go ahead and take the time to address that question, instead of getting on to the stuff that seems more important to me. Because you at this moment are more important to me than me, and I don't want this issue to keep nagging at and distracting you.
Okay, so yes, Cindy would be fine. I think it's a good, sweet name. It reminds me of a small child, like the littlest on Brady Bunch. Very non-threatening. Also, I just see no good enough reason to call me anything else other than the name I have already established here. So is this issue settled for you? I hope so. Because discussing it isn't very interesting to me personally.
