Friends, My name is Dwayne. Am an artist & writer as well as an admirer of Richard for nearly 3 decades here now. Am pleased to have discovered this website & forum several days ago & look forward to contributing to the community. My first purchase of "Illusions" in 1978 has seen over 40 more, always giving a copy away after re-reading this wonderful little book. Is timeless. Thank you, Richard, for all ... you have another friend whom you've not met yet. Am known as "boxcar" at FlightSim.com's screenshot forum where my artwork continues ... am just no longer painting with acrylics since experiencing my calamity nearly 9 years ago: www.screenshotart.com/index.php?showtopic=5501Having just completed my first book around 9 months ago, this tortured soul can relate with Richard in that writing is not easy. Far from it ... especially to one with brain injury such as this man. Is part of my therapy & much more. It is good to be here now. ~Dwayne~

Edina, Thank you. Spending the time to make a simple welcome always feels warm to my heart. You will discover that this artist/writer/tortured soul edits a lot. Besides spelling issues, the artist in me will edit many times sometimes to arrange the sentences into aesthetically nice patterns. The only way to accomplish so far as I am aware is to keep trying until the muse releases me creatively as the lines & light work well. Hopefully this will enhance our experiences together, whether they last another few day or a few aeons. Spelling issues are usually a matter of lingering effects due to brain injury, as my noodle can miss a mespeled word several times until posting an expression of my thoughts. Then again, sometimes this man just plain gets in a hurry though he knows better. Writing is something which is excruciatingly difficult for me as a result of my injury ... & this is okay too. Hopefully this will adequately convey my thoughts as desired in this moment. Please be good to your selfs always in All ... ~Dwayne~

Don't worry about your spelling, although I know how it feels, as English isn't my first language and was diagnosed with dyslexia/dysgraphia in the past. To this day, I still find myself struggling at times, but I go on and choose to ignore it. As a result, ended up learning 3 languages fluently (learning the fourth) and was almost always a straight A student. Though I really have to watch what I write--and still it takes me 2-3 times longer to compose a paragraph like this than for others--don't let it get to me. I'm telling you this, because you shouldn't be bothered by it either! If you feel like editing what you wrote, fine, but please don't feel obligated by it, if you don't have to. No one expects you to have every comma or word at the right place, at least not on this board (oh maybe Eric, but he isn't serious about it either).

Edina, Am appreciating your fine response. Is good to know more about the person you are. No, am not worrying whatsoever about my spelin or is anything getting to me as it is my goal to live as free & openly as best known how. Thank you so much for your expressed concern though, as it is perceived to be real. It is comforting to be aware of the fact that this man is not the only soul who must work so diligently to wordsmith an understandable response ... hopefully lucid anyhoo. Dyslexia presents it's challenges too, no doubt. Knew an atheistic dyslexic once whom doubted the existance of dog. ~lol~Thank you, cousin. ~Dwayne~

Though I really have to watch what I write--and still it takes me 2-3 times longer to compose a paragraph like this than for others- This might make you feel good about yourself: Once, I thought of writing a book, I started a page in 2001 with barely 7 paragraphs, and I am still editing them. If I calculate, it comes to: 7/24x365 x 4 = 0.0001997 paragraphs per day ... Now What would you call this? Grave(Chukling)

Recnetly I calculated: It is like 0.000000055 paragraphs per minute Grave(fainting)

What was that equation again? I remember we had to learn it by heart in school, and I still remember it, but don't remember what it was for...

Hello Bluebird. It is the mighty quadratic equation which may be employed to do about anything ... calculate the ballistics to fly to the moon, you name it. Thanks ... ~Dwayne~
