Anyone in here read the Carlos Castaneda or Jane Roberts books?
I always thought that Castaneda was one of the influences for Richard Bachs books, along with the Jane Roberts/Seth books.
He was actually a friend of Jane Roberts and it was said that they were aspects ( related souls ) of each other. He attended her channeling sessions and spoke with Seth.
The Castaneda books, If you haven't read them, will seem like a more realistic, adult, detailed version of Illusions. They were already famous years before Illusions and Richard Bach, being a voracious reader, Probably read them.
The teacher in the books, Don Juan Matus, started with the premise that his student Carlos already knew that he created his own reality, and taught him why he may not be getting the results he wanted.

Hey I've heard of both, and even listened to a little of Seth from one of the audiobooks. It definitely caught my attention, and I will look into buying a Seth book when I get the chance. Which one would you recommend?

All of the Seth books are interesting because of the fine details they go into behind the reality of reality creation. They don't leave any room for doubt and the scientific expanations will even appeal to quantum physics students.
The Creation Of Mass Events is a title that comes to mind. It is about the reality we all create together. It deals with racism, wars, religions and other things that the entire planet creates as a whole.
Jane Roberts also wrote fiction. The Adventures Of Oversoul Seven. It is about the part of us that remains conscious of all our reincarnations and doesn't lose memories between lifetimes.

I must say I was never much for channeling and automatic writing. Then I read Jane Roberts' book The nature of the psyche, and I though to myself, "gee, that must've been a VERY insightful person or spirit to have explained all those things in perfect clarity". Now I'm not so sure anymore, but I consider that book among the top five from which I've learned most. Actually, it's good that Roberts got to be mentioned, because I really need to reread that book - and get acquainted with some other of her works.

Wow - didn't know that Carlos and Seth were on the same wavelength. Thanks for sharing this. Funny how picking up the pieces to the larger puzzle start to click together. Guess where I missed the boat was getting bogged down in the widely different frameworks that both mediums (sorry) use - couldn't connect the dots. But yes, creating reality is the basis of both, and both are highly recommended reading for wanderers. My preference was with Seth, who spoke in a very clear yet deep mode, with so much said in such few words. The Oversoul Seven book(first one) makes a great introduction to Seths framework. Diving right into Seths other works requires a tad more concentration (to put it mildly

HI I've read the Castaneda books and found them amazing. But I"ve never heard of Jane Roberts or Seth _______? Is it possible for someone to give me a few titles to look into? I'm intrigued. I would like to read anything that is along the same inspirational plane and Richard Bach or Castaneda. Thanks, Cass

Friggin popups!
Hello Cass,
Just read your request re: casteneda and Roberts.
In the 70's, yes that would be the 1970's, I read first Seth Speaks by Roberts. Wow, mind bender! Back then it was shaaaakkkyyyy to read such material.
The most valuable line to me was "Don't worry about who I am, or where I am, listen to what I have to say and see if it makes sense."
That helped me at that time of my life to get over the issue of the suspicious nature of the revelation.
Powerful!
Read Nature of Personal Reality, but had my fill at that point, needed time to see manifestation of my own updated reality.
I know I have been able to pick up Seth Speaks at a used bookstore, cheap.
Would like to hear what you think. Lizanne
