One other thing Pip....if your seeing a Naturpath then he/she shoud be able to help you with this. Do kinesology (muscle testing) on certain foods that don't agree with you even if they are on your good list. The other factor that plays into diets (meaning ways of eating, not diet as in abscence of food) is food allergies. I don't know about Australians, but here in America, food allergies are one of the leading health problems today. However you won't find any stats on this through the AMA!! Many things they (the docs) are treating as mental/mood/bipolar/add/adhd/e.t.c....are in reality food allergy symptoms. Allot of children, for example, that they are giving redalin (sp?) to for hyper-activity are either on too much sugar, or are having a food allergy. I've known of children and adults to have an allergian to the sugars in raw fruits!! Food allergies are a world untapped by the medical doctors, I think that if they would start doing a study, they would find they would be prescribing allot less pills! Of course I am a bit biased when it comes to health and nutrition! ;D

I've been researching food allergies a lot in the past year as I've been suffering from almost permanent sinus issues for about 2 years. It doesn't seem to be seasonal so I believe it must be related to food allergies. The food allergy problem in Australia is huge but, as you say, it's kept well under wraps! Heaps of children here suffer from eczema and ADD which is bound to be related to allergies, though parents don't realise it.
I didn't know kinesology included muscle testing for food allergies, but I did get tested at a allergy clinic in Sydney which uses the same technique. Results showed I am allergic to wheat, dairy, yeast, wine, but am ok with fruit and most vegies. They then attempt to 'cure' the allergy using a technique involving magnets and muscle tapping. (Hard to describe). When I told my naturopath about this, she said that if I did this test when my immune system was low (which I did) it would show that I am allergic to lots of things because the body is in a weak state, and therefore isn't accurate.
I don't know a lot about kinesology. Can it treat most conditions?

Muscle testing isn't used to "treat" anything, per sey, it is merely used as a guide to what are bodies are needing at the time. And also to what is good for or not for us. Yes, when Immune funtions are low, it will show things that maybe be "borderline" good for you as being bad. And that only makes sense as well. And things that are totally good for you will still show that, low immune or not. It's just another "tool" in the tool chest that Creator has given us to "read" our systems and the world around us.

And I, personally, have heard of no way to "cure" a food allergy.....I'd be interested to learn more about this method you described. Wow, if it can cure food allergies!! Oh happy days!!

Check out www.aaeclinics.com.au for info on the Advanced Allergy Elimination clinics. It explains how they cure the allergies better than I could! I've been back to the clinic 3 times (they can only cure one allergy at a time) and it hasn't cured my sinus but that may be because I have so many allergies they haven't yet treated the right one causing the sinus problems. But it's quite expensive so I doubt whether I'll be go back again. I have a feeling the treatment was developed in America so there may be clinics over there too. My husband had amazing results though, when they treated his allergy to salycilates (sorry, terrible spelling). He's had a permanent rash on his back for years and it cleared instantly following the treatment. BUT... it did return, though not as severely.

Hmmm...that would suggest to me that what ever was causing the allergy in first place, was not eliminated...it could be such a thing as feather pillows! I used feather pillows for years, finally discovering that I was haveing a reaction to the feathers.....when I got rid of the feather pillows, my acne cleared up within a month...hasn't been back! Allergies are amazing things...

just went to the website from the link you gave, PiP....interesting! So, apparently, one can have contact with the substance that once caused the reaction after the treatment.....very interesting. I'd like to dive into this a bit further....

Ahh.. feather pillows! I hadn't thought of that, and not to mention my feather quilt.
Let me know if you find out anything more about these allergy elimination clinics and i'll tell you if I visit there again. I'm very impressed that Australia is actually ahead of the rest of the world on this one!
