One of the most striking features of RB's writing is the simplicity with which he manages to explain hugely complex ideas and theories. This is best reflected in the series of maxims in Illusions that, for me anyway, takes the book above being just a story of choice and turns it into a challenge to find and hold an identity.
Anyway, since then I have often used this format to generate my own little ‘instruction manual’, with my own maxims and sayings. While the danger of such an endeavour may be that we then choose to identify only with our own ‘version’ of the world, as we perceive it, the whole moral and conclusion of ‘Illusions’ is that no choice is too big to make.

Hmmmm, do we not all identify only with our own version of the world? Some conscious of the fact, others not? I see no danger in choosing to identify with only my perceptions of my world, in fact, I see great growth opportunities. It's better than taking the word or perception of others(traps). It seems that the more I take responsibility for my world, the more the illusory world around me changes to fit my new understandings and perceptions. $.02 LL
