I've only read a couple of these. I'm interested in why you rank them the way you do, in case I get around to picking another one up.

1) Illusions. The philosophy so closely matches my own. 2) Seagull. It is an incredible book that inspires one to live the life they most desire and not live in the shadows of another's ideas or opinions. 3) Bridge. I'm a romantic. 4) One. Really made me think and examine my own choices. 5) There's No Such Place as Faraway. A lovely book to read when you miss someone. 6) Running from Safety. Again, made me look back at my choices and evaluate what I know and who I am. 7) Messiah's Handbook. Handy little reminder! 8) Writer Ferrets. As a writer, I could relate. I haven't had the chance to read the rest of Richard's books, but I will eventually! Michelle TheMaams.com

It's difficult to rank them as they bear equal importance to me in opening my mind to new ideas&thoughts at different times in my life, and depending on the situations that I'm in, the order changes constantly. Today, I'd rank them like this: 1) Running From Safety 2) Illusions 3) Jonathan 4) One 5) The Bridge Across Forever

Edina observes: "It's difficult to rank them as they bear equal importance to me in opening my mind to new ideas&thoughts at different times in my life, and depending on the situations that I'm in, the order changes constantly." Well said. How true, how true. ~Dwayne~

If you'll read once more my post, you'll see that I read that there was about 15 sentences what I found deep(matterful) enough , and I said that 10 from 15 was on last page...But I hadn't said where the other 5 sentcences where... Also I understand that he points out that there's no such thing as "by chance" ... and that he must describe to readers what that means.(because many people yet don't understand what that means-> they haven't realized that everything has its reason)~ and he describes that through his adventures , but for me that adventures are boring. But I agree ~ I should read that book again... I'll write you something to show ~from my aspect~ that there's nothing B.C. Have you any topic where you have told about your experiences? I think it could be intresting...To discuss some coincidences etc.. blessed be!

Hi all.....for me it is this: 1.) Illusions...merely because it was a gift and the very first writings of RB that I experienced. But the ideas found was a treasure indeed. 2.) Jonathon Livingstone Seagull....also because it was part of the first gift. However, I liked it because of the message. Do not by stymied by old "tried and true" dogma. Believe in yourself and what is awakening inside of you and don't let anyone or anything stand in the path of your wants/desires/ideals. Dare it all, only then can you truly LIVE!! 3.) Third on the list and if the first two books weren't gifts, this would be number one. This book is "One". Reading this book took some time do to the tears that were coming from deep within my soul/heart. WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE/LIVE OUR LIVES TO THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH WE WERE CREATED. All we have to do is reach out and do it! Very opening story for me. 4.) The romantic in me loved B.A.F.....just as much the kid/adventurer in me loved the Ferret Chronicles. 5.) These would be the next ones I read! *grin*
Okay, ya'll have a wondermus day! JTwolf

Altariel says: Have you any topic where you have told about your experiences? I think it could be intresting...To discuss some coincidences etc..
Yes my friend, all the time has happen. Weird things that you wonder why and you can't figure it out on the spot but in hours or days you realize that because that happen before, now you see some things much more clear or you are able to do or not to do something because what you know now that you didn't before. What I don't really know yet is if we make the things happen on that way with our energy whatever (so we feel better ) or if there is something outside us that drives everything and shows us a path to follow. I give you one simple example: you take a vacation picking among different places for some reazon (say money, distance, whatever) and there you meet different people just in a public place( looks like by chance)and talk about something etc. 3 months later you read the clasifieds in the newspaper you don't know why because you never do that and find out that there is a job oportunitie that could be good. Then you go and see many problems like time distance etc. and wonder if is the right place to work when one of this person that you met 3 months ago shows up and because has moved with the work and remembers you and tells you that you left a very good impresion and suddenly you realize that this job is very good and go for it but that is causing you troubles in the other job that you had before and you wait to find a solution when something happen that shows you that this place is giving you more problems than solutions and that you are a different person much better in the new place so you are able to make a decision that with the time appears as the best thing. Ok I'll tell you another case anytime but like Richard says "here's what you do: keep working every day and watch for coincidende that cames strolling your way" is something like that I don't remember exactly thank you ::)aggie

I personally liked him freshest, so a Stranger to the Ground is my Number One. Read it in HARDBACK (remember those?)
His Anthologies of his writing for various flying magazines are next in line, and then finally his spiritual or rather, his "spiritualist" books are next. I like all the ones I've read, but honestly, his aviation writing is much free-er and much less confining than his spiritualistic stuff. My opinion, of course. My impression is that he's almost a reporters style when writing about flying. I love his impression and perspective of detail. His spiritual writing, on the other hand feels limited and stilted-his imagination is excellent but he doesn't probe his ideas as deeply as his descriptions of reality. He SHOWS me reality, he describes spirituality. The most wonderful writing in Biplane, for example, are when he describes the crashes. I Am There- his writing is like crystal. His devices work well for such descriptions, likehisrunon-sentencesthatcontinueonandontodescribeaction, a mildly overused device. His juxtapositions are wonderful, though, as when practicing gunnery worrying about whether or not he should let his wife have a pair of Siamese kittens...
Older, falling to newer.
