Just found that Amazon's offering to pre-order RB's new book that's to be released on September 1, 2004. Guess what book? Needless to say this was absolutely great news for me , got me really excited as I feel that Illusions was the most worthy book I ever read. Also a new book on aviation is available, but if I understood their announcement right, it's 3 of his aviation books under one cover.

Has anyone read this yet? Is so, what do you think of it?

It's not so much for reading, as it is for refering to, as it was in Illusions.

Has anyone read this yet? Is so, what do you think of it? Got my copy Thursday at a QA session with Richard Bach (actually it was mostly answers, he spoke for a long time on each question) put on by the University Book Store in Seattle. Even got it autographed of course :-). Hadn't seen him in person in 20 years but he was the same old Richard. The book is everything you would have expected it to be. It contains the familiar quotes from Illusions and many more, some from other of Richard's books and some new ones. It's really best not read cover-to-cover but rather used as a sort-of magic 8-ball as in Illusions. It's uncanny how well it works when used that way.

Am wishing to express my satisfaction with my copies of Messiah's Handbook, it being referenced 6 times in this month since acquiring my frist 2 copies (one of which was given to a neighbor who has read Illusions opon my nudging her to do so). Each time the answer given to the question being sincerely held in my heart is answered wonderfully thus far. Wonderful little book! Thank you once again, Richard & Hampton Roads Publishing. Warmest Regards ... ~Dwayne~

Tonight this book was the subject of Chris and Shelly's radio show 'Illusions'. Too bad I missed about 20 minutes of it, due to server problems, though am still hoping that Michael recorded it and Steph will put it up on their site. Wouldn't want to miss a minute of it!

I came across an advertisement for Messiah's Handbook in a Publisher's Weekly magazine I( I work at a public library where we are required to keep abreast of new publications), and felt so excited! I went and bought myself a copy at the earliest opportunity, and it is a sweet breath of fresh air in my life now. And yes, as Dwayne said, sometimes confronting, which is OK because life itself is going to wake us up. one way or another, and it's lovely to have those messages come in such a small, manageable, and compassionate dose! You can stick this little book in the back pocket of your blue jeans and go anywhere! Besides this, Illusions has been one of my favorite books for a long time. It's lovely to have that wisdom extended by this powerful new addition to Richard Bach's work! In thanks and love, Shelagh

Just a note -
Richard says that it is his rule that the first thig one must do after receiving the Messiahs handbook is to throw the dust jacket away.
He said it ruins the feel of the book, but was required for legal reasons like a UPC code and ISBN number.

How strange! That's exactly what I did first--get rid of the dustcover. I guess I just wanted to feel that soft velvety feel of the actual cover--and even if it does get covered in lint, dust, whatever--so be it. Remember The Velveteen Rabbit? Cheers, Shelagh

I was thinking that the books would make good presents for my maids of honor.
