Hello Everyone,
After years in existance, this forum has attracted a lot of visitors and posters. Now, although keeping the forum as liberal as possible has always been a primary goal of mine, I now realize that it simply doesn't work. The lack of rules leads to anarchy. There must be a certain balance betwen giving freedom and regulating what is going on here.
The forum doesn't exist for me, it doesn't exist for Richard Bach, it exists for the people who visit it.
So before I tell you how I think things should be run around here, I'd like to hear everything you've got to say. What you think should change, and what should stay the same... And it doesn't matter if you are a regular visitor, or just coming here for the first time. I want to hear all comments, and the more the better.

I have some things to say, but I will post you privately. My internet connection is not the best at the moment (hasn't been for a week), but I'll try to get through somehow.

I'm a fairly new member, I haven't posted much, but I've been lately reading the things posted and I must say that I think that this forum has kind of turned into a farce. Now... Before people start flaming at me, know that this is my personal opinion and that I'm not attacking or criticizing anyone personally.
But where I thought this forum was an open-minded place where people could vent their experiences of Life and tell about their own feelings without being judged for it, it turned out that this whole open-mindedness was a completely relative term, and people here are addressed to by moderators when they try to tell about their own visions and thoughts whenever their thoughts tend to wander a bit off-track. Respect for other people's opinions and experiences doesn't seem to exist if those opinions and experiences don't match the general one that seems to have settled on this board.
Second thing that bothers me is that people start leaving here and BLAMING other people for it, because they can't seem to accept that those other people will not be convinced by the first one's opinions and thoughts. If we don't share the same thoughts, it doesn't mean that we can't live together on one board. It comes down to that same respect again. And if you can't seem to communicate with eachother because your experiences collide in some way, leave eachother alone. There are enough other people to talk to. But running away from this board and blaming someone else for it, is a pathetic thing to do and to me that only proves that you are running away from something you can't deal with.
People's opinions and thoughts are as relative as Life itself. Anyone who consciously lives Life, has a different perception and perspective of it and that's why THIS OPENMINDED place, was such a good place. To COMPARE eachother's perceptions and to learn from eachother where possible. NOT to convince other people that your perception is the only right one.
If we ever want to reach enlightenment, we should acknowledge that we will never be that when we can't accept and respect other people for what they are and for what they think. And I apologize up front for anyone who feels offended by the following, but if people here, who think of themselves as enlightened, think that they can tell other people how it "really" (another one of those relative words) is, they are ignorant pompuous beings who are even further away from enlightenment than the people they address to. NO one has the right to think that they are better than any other, regardless of how old you are, of how many lives you remember to have lived or of how enlightened you (think you) are.
I sincerely hope that this crisis will be dealt with. It would be a shame if this place would drown in the exact opposite of what it advertises to present.

I'm a new member seeking information / discussion of RB I found this place it is interesting and informative there is quite a bit posted here that I see as having not much if anything to do with RB, but then two of the four discussion boards invite exactly that sort of input.
" The Man A place to discuss all that is related to Richard Bach
His Books Here you shall discuss Richard's many books!
General Board You can talk about anything here Spirituality All matters of the Spirit, and the Mind..."
I suspect that if we use the boards as they are promoted we could expect non-RB stuff to not show up in the first two boards, and those not interested in non-RB stuff will do well to avoid the last two boards.
"every person, all the events in your life are there because you have drawn them there. what you choose to do with them'is up to you"

Bluebird, Thinker, ob1kenob, first of all thank you for telling us how you feel about the situation, hopefully more people will step forward and tell about their own opinions and experiences. What I would like to add, some of you didn't get to read some of the posts and topics that made people leave or complain. I'm sure some would have scared away even you, and I'm thankful for being here at the right time to delete them as this is part of my job. All these topics and posts are archieved to further prove our claims, of course. If threats were made against you or seeing someone talking to themselves while thinking they are YOU, and being annoyed by this same person in every possible way, would have made you run away as well. And I personally, wouldn't call it a pathetic thing to do, because frankly witnessing all this, scared me too, but in the name of freedom, more were allowed than it should have and banning wasn't an option that we wanted to use. Hopefully more people will come forward and speak up on their own behalfs and tell how they feel or felt, so others who aren't that frequent visitors would get a clearer picture of what is and was happening on here. Once again, thanks Eric for making this topic!

Hi all,
I'm sorry that I could not be around much...
I too feel this forum has changed, and it may have changed because sometimes, we all tend to think, "We know more/better/clear" and so we forget that we also "think same/ we are, more or less similar...and for this reason we are here together (including this planet earth)"
People around us are just reflection of us isn’t it, If only we could revise "ONE" once again?
Part of us may need help/service/care... and together we could always help that person to right level of understanding… the level which, Richard Bach forum is supposed to be at...
There have been times, when I actually felt extreme Love for this forum and each one of you... and similarly, it is easier to feel hate/dislike/discomfort at equal frequency.
This is illusion. We all know this. We all can bring each one of us out without much rules (religion). And I could suggest a rule if I knew what do we mean by "Right"
My wonderful friends, everything here seems to be taking up a shape, a definite form/a picture, it should not. Let this be free of form.
We can not get together and focus our negativity on people who need the positive reflection of us. Think... We always have a room for one more; we just have to pull him/her up. And that's what we should do for everyone, should it happen again. This could be the rule we truly need.
We should all be at same Higher-level (state of soul). Together and one.
I love this place ... for it was... And could be again All of you are precious to me, and you are so because you don't change according to my rules of life.
And, do I really have to react personally to something I don't like, and still think/pretend/claim "I am not / I am / it doesn't matter”?
Grave (Ready to pull a life out of slime)

Compared to other forums that I am a member of, this one doesn't have any problems....at least not that I've been able to see...which may be misleading without the archived posts. ( you should try anime boards if you want real animosity)
I've been slowly drifting back over old threads...trying to see what has been....several were resurrected and I was able to read them first...in an effort to understand the posts that were being made to resurrect it.
If I could change one thing, it would be to find a way for people to let go of their own stuff...A disadvantage to this kind of communication is that you get none of the nonverbal clues that you get face to face...so when you read the words someone writes, you read them with your own voice, and your own paradigms active and filtering....The result is often a reaction to a post, that is not accurate to the author's intent...which can lead to a reactive post back, or several, if some members are feeling a bit cliquey....I don't know how moderators can stop that...it is an endemic problem of this kind of communication.
I'm hoping the board can continue, if the form adapts I'm sure it will also be fine. I've only known it in the last month or so....so I can't comment on what was before now. If it becomes something that I don't want to be a part of, I'll leave...which is what I assume those who left did...or I'll only come back occassionally (which for me is the same as leaving, as I can never be happy to just read the current posts...I like to go back and read everything that led up to those posts.
