One of my favorite passages in a Bach book is his encounter with someone who has a one page document. This page answers everything Richard needed to know. He wanted to take the page with him but the other person destroyed it saying that keeping the page would be a mistake. You know, they would build a religion around it, a place to display it, and a keeper of the page. Which book is this in?

That book is One. That chapter is my favourite in that book.

And of course the one page document would in essence state that
"What we focus on exclusively becomes OUR reality."
The fire-walker focuses on 'cool moss' and his feet do not burn. The spiritual idealist focuses only on beauty, and sees no ugliness. The Christian Scientist focuses exclusively on LOVE, and feels no pain. EVERYTHING we experience is a movie of our own creating.
And everything except Truth, Life and Absolute LOVE is an illusion, a fabrication of our minds and imaginations, just as our sleeping dreams are-to our culturally educated senses-unreal and unsubstantial. You create your experiences and your world by vividly and constantly IMAGINING them in a particular and specific form and pattern. First you sketch it in great detail with your imagination, then you fill in the picture, giving it color, weight, dimension and animation with your actions that bring the resources to the sketch, and give it form, body, substance and "reality". Would you make a mud-castle? Form it in your mind first, then go get its components and fit them into the imagined form. Imagine in detail all of the component parts, then GO GET those component parts and fit them together in the proper way to make your castle stand. The secret of life is that we are all ARTISTS. The more gifted we are at mentally imagining our lives in exact detail, the clearer our painting of life is, and the more details of it will manifest in our experience. But we must build our world to include the supportive, hidden structure also, if it is to stand firmly. Does a marraige remain idealic and blissful only supported by smiles? No. The little details that are not easily seen are needed to keep it strong and constantly shored up. Ignore these little details, neglect the renewing and strengthening of them, and the marraige eventually crumbles from lack of trust, thoughtfulness, kindnesses, patience, insight into the feelings, desires, motivations and dreams of the other person.
So it is with great lives. Constant attention to the thousands of supporting little details is necessary to create and maintain a beautiful dream life. But it all begins with vividly imagining the dream, desired situation, or object.

Good day. Am agreeing with most of your expressed thoughts, Robert, though not all. Robert Burns suggests: "The fire-walker focuses on 'cool moss' and his feet do not burn. The spiritual idealist focuses only on beauty, and sees no ugliness. The Christian Scientist focuses exclusively on LOVE, and feels no pain. EVERYTHING we experience is a movie of our own creating."This firewalker does not. My focus is completely different when doing so, though your description of principle is favorably noted. Robert Burns also professes: "And everything except Truth, Life and Absolute LOVE is an illusion, a fabrication of our minds and imaginations, just as our sleeping dreams are - to our culturally educated senses - unreal and unsubstantial. Will likely be thinking on this for a long time ... am willing to let you know my thoughts later. Robert Burns indicates: "The secret of life is that we are all ARTISTS. Am thinking that "creators" may be more apt - I don't know. Not all are artists in my opinion. Hmmm ... please allow me to rephrase that: not all are artists. We all do create our own circumstances by & large, if not totally, by the thoughts we chose & encourage, thus creating our own gladness, sadness, & so on. We are all creators, without question. It Is a matter which extends beyond belief. Yes. Some of Robert Burns' wisdom: "Does a marraige remain idealic and blissful only supported by smiles? OOOooooops ... -grinning- How'd that happen? Is something like another dimension. ~Dwayne~

And of course the one page document would in essence state that "What we focus on exclusively becomes OUR reality." “We experience is a movie of our own creating.”<br> Very true --------------------------- And everything except Truth, Life and Absolute LOVE is an illusion, a fabrication of our minds and imaginations. Very Confusing 1) If I am already imagining, then how come life, and love that I do in this life and real-truths that I believe in this dream could be TRUE? Or 2) Did you mean to say Universal Truths, Universal True Love(in all its sense) and the Life as in the life force(The ‘I”) ? ----------------------------------------------------- The secret of life is that we are all ARTISTS. And that we all are artist because the first one IS ---------------------------------------------------- Does a marriage remain idealic and blissful only supported by smiles? Do you mean marriage or love in the marriage? Because sometimes marriage continues, they might live in hell with each other but don’t quit till death (Reason could be kids, money, being used to each other etc) Any how, All in All I think- Depends mostly of how truly we understand the word “Love” (In addition to what you said) Grave(just shuffling/inquiring)

Posted by Robert Burns on 1/4/04 at 4:19 Will not put in "quote", that it is better visible. AMAZINGarticle posted by Robert Burns...brought it up out of the archives for us to view...as I too am dealing with this level of understanding..... This is how my hobbit home came into being..... First there was the photo from Jeff Dumas, and oh what a dream.....then it became a place of safety.....and over the days, I've worked upon its structure, and I see myself there, and one could call me in a sense the "architect", and I am, carving into the rock those things I need to sit upon, and sleep upon, bringing in hay and moss for bedding, and the awe of osbserving the light in me adjust accordingly, automatically to the need naturally, and wholistically...and every good thing is in this place, and I come here for healing and allowing new insight.... In response to the above words of Robert Burns, I see a conveyer belt, upon which there is passing by all sorts of "packages" of ideas. Until we understand how this works, we find ourselves picking up a package off the belt indiscriminately, opening it up, and adopting that which is inside... We become that "idea", and our reality(daily experience) is viewed from the perspective of the "idea" we have blindly chosen, and play this out in the world. When we have the ability to distance ourselves from the "automatic delivery system" of the ideas upon this conveyer belt, we then can peruse all of the packages labels, and "sit" with it for awhile, before deciding whether or not to bring it into our experience. Concurring with Mr. Burns perspective, in that if we choose love, life, and allllll things containing the essence of the nurturance we desire, we must first disentangle ourselves from the "automatic delivery system" and distance ourselves, that we may view more possiblilites of "ideas" on the conveyor belt, allowing, again the ability for us to pick and choose the direction of our lives..... What potential beauty this freedom offers.... So to the ONE on my left wing, I thank you for leading me into this direction, don't know where I am being led, but trusting, all the same. To others, if you find value here in this and have ideas or questions, please interact. For those who feel this is psychobabble-then this post is not meant for you carryon please! lizanne333
